An advent calendar of tax changes

We are now due a smorgasbord of tax changes a week today by Rachel Reeves since politically No10 & 11 seem to have backtracked on the 2p income tax increase.

I think this is a mistake but we will now get a full list of smaller tax changes leaked including Mansion Tax, Fiscal drag and a lot of other taxes.

This pretty much means that there will be further tax rises next year but let’s see what a week today brings.

We are still not facing the challenges of the NHS, ageing population and lack of migration to help plug our skills shortage. Politically these are hot potatoes with all but the ageing population in the news pretty much everyday.

Rishi Sunak predicted Labour would increase taxes and that certainly is the case, but we should be honest with the electorate that the above issues are the ones that we need to tackle.
