I have been staying in various hotels over the last few weeks while travelling. We have typically been taking our dog Bertie with us.

Pretty much all hotels now have a per surcharge or supplement, ranging from £15 to £30 per night and don’t really provide much (if anything) for this surcharge.

It got me thinking about communities of dog owners and how we could negate this charge in return for something. As an early Tesla owner they built a network of “destination” chargers which allowed you to charge overnight for free based on choosing that hotel.

I wonder if dog owners are likely to spend more or less in a hotel due to there pet ownership or could a brand partner with hotels to negate this cost.

I think a blanket charge for a pet owner seems excessive and really hotels are not providing much benefit in return.

Thoughts?
